Nagalapuram Trek–South west mountain range

Nagalapuram forest range, just few hours drive from Chennai, a beautiful wilderness that has become the unofficial home of the Chennai Trekking Club(CTC). We trekked through one of the best trails in Nagala, filled with crystal clear pools, fresh water streams, breath taking views, and beautiful forest.

Me, Ramesh and Alok joined from Bangalore. Reached Tirupati by 4 A.M and borad a bus to Uttukottai and reached Uttukottai junction by 5:30 AM. The other team from the chennai reached by 6 AM. All the team set to go for Nagalapuram. After entering Nagalapuram we had reached Arrey Village. We had parked all the vehicles near the dam

Food was distributed among all the participants. Guna Navigate the team and Naveen sweeped from behind with a broom.

First glimpse of the water stream

After one hours trek, we reached the first pool. Everyone started jump into the pool and started to having fun…

After 45 minutes trek we reached the second pool. It is crystal clear and beautiful with a small water fall. Depth of the pool varies from 1 feet to 10 feet. Had fun for one hour.

After another 30 miins trek we reached the 3rd pool. This is the most beautiful of all the pools with sliding water fall. Its depth is more than 10 meet. Had a great time here

Reached water pool by 2:30, But its not its glory. We are little unhappy

After the water fall we climbed a steep hill and get down into valley on other side and after another 2 1/2 hours trek we finally reached the camping spot. Had fresh water bath, yummy soup followed by Maggie. The next day we work up in the morning and trek down in the same way.
