Rock climbing and path finding at Makalidurga, Karnataka

A small granite hillock, nestled amidst the chains of mountains, formed like a valley closer to Ghati Subramanya, a well-known pilgrimage center. Just 2 hr drive away from the city approx of 60km. Makalidurga has a fort on top, at the height of 1,350mts. Here is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The mountains is filled with date plants, lemon grass, many more plants and small boulders. Get the glimpse of the mountain train; passing through the valley at the foothills of these Mountains on either side of the base of the hillock there is a huge lakes, each lake spreads more than 6km radius.

Siva Samudram water falls and talakad Coracle rides, Karnataka

Gaganachukki and Barachukki waterfalls is at Sivanasamudram (aka Sivasamudram) near Malavalli, Mandya district. The waterfall is around 50meters tall on River Kaveri (Cauvery) and is a beautiful sight, especially during monsoon. Talakkad situated in the banks of Kaveri (Cauvery) is known for its sand dunes and the temples buried underneath. River Kaveri flows very shallow here and is ideal to take bath and play around. Talakkad is in Mysuru (Mysore) district.
